This one blew me away (the whole not part of the executive branch thing). Everything just seems incredibly nuts. I'm speechless.

On a serious note, I think I support a Congressional showdown with Cheney. On principle (but not on political expediency), I support an an effort to impeach him. His utter disregard for the principle of checks and balances -- or for any oversight or accountability of the executive branch -- is a very serious threat to American democracy.
