It doesn't make a great deal of sense at this stage to get into the proper technical solutions for these tasks, or the resulting information archtecture.
In the generic sense, what's important is that all the data we present be coded in valid, clean, standard ways. Those that do it properly will have better benefits than those that don't.
It's possible to clean up differences in coding, so long as it's consistent. But that's a waste of time if you can get people to do it right in the first place, or to at least agree upon a system that would work for all users.
