When writing for print:
- Everything necessary to make your point clearly must be explicitly included.
- Expository paragraphs and phrases should be used as needed, but kept close to the ideas they expand and trimmed of excess information.
- Your amount of space is limited, so seek the best compromise between brevity and completeness.
- Because print writing is one-way communication, effective writing for print is more like public speaking than conversation.
