For those of you who've been un-dying to get the latest on "Brunch of the Living Dead," here's the skinny:
We'll be doing our first shoot on Sunday, April 6, here at chez Xark (794 Rutledge Ave.). Everyone -- whether you're in the shoot or not -- is invited to start dropping by around 2 p.m. I'll be providing adult beverages, plus zombie makeup, and we intend to turn this first scene into a social event.
We plan to shoot the scene in the late afternoon, then conduct something of an ad hoc cast and crew meeting to go over the schedule for the rest of the production.
We'll only need about three or four zombies in this first scene, so not all our undead will be needed on camera. However, we figured this would be a great time to learn the basics of doing zombie makeup. If you want to be a zombie in this or other scenes, bring your proposed zombie outfit (we'll zombie-up any basic thrift-store clothing you bring) on Sunday, and we'll try to have some sort of "Zombie School." We're hoping to have our makeup guru on hand, if it fits his schedule.
Also, since we'll be shooting a "The Making of 'Brunch of the Living Dead'" documentary AND a "Making of the The Making of 'Brunch of the Living Dead' Documentary" documentary, anyone with a camcorder, handicam, etc., is invited to bring their own and shoot their little hearts out.
To clarify: You DON'T EVEN HAVE TO BE IN THE MOVIE TO COME TO THE SUNDAY SHOOT. Just shoot us an e-mail, send me a Tweet or leave me at comment here OR at the "Brunch of the Living Dead cast and crew" Facebook group. I gotta know how much beer and makeup to buy on Saturday.
It's always something isn't it? How much beer to buy? How much makeup?
Why don't those idiots in Columbia allow stores to stock both!?

All this talk of zombies reminds me of a really cool student I knew who had an obviously homemade t-shirt on one day that read "Kill if zombie." I asked him what it meant, and he shrugged and said "Instructions."
